About the project

This genealogy web project is dedicated to my grandparents — Karl Mangold and Olga Mychelkin (maiden name).

The website is the result of my genealogical research, which began in January 2021, when I immersed myself in the history of my family and the reconstruction of its chronology. Here I tell the story of my ancestry through the lives and biographies of people who lived over several centuries.

On these pages, you will find an online archive of documents, newspaper clippings, family photographs, letters, and postcards — everything that helps bring the memory of the past back to life.

In addition, this website serves as a companion to the book I am currently writing about the lives of my grandparents. When the book is published, this web archive will become its continuation — a living part of the story about love, trials, and destiny of two people in the complex and dramatic era of the first half of the 20th century.
